PROFESSIONAL HINTS & TIPS WHEN CHOOSING A NEW HOT WATER SYSTEM

ELECTRIC STORAGE HOT WATER SYSTEM

Electric hot water systems are the most common type of systems throughout Queensland They are often connected to off peak tariff and heat during the evening, then store the heated water in the cylinder until required

As long as your system has been sized correctly for the number of occupants in the home this system will provide years of reliable supply to your family with minimal running costs.

If your system is undersized and you are often running out of hot water, then it is time for an upgrade. Contact us at kLEEN PLUMBING on 5370 9970 to arrange a Free No obligation quotation*.

GAS HOT WATER

Did you know in Queensland, Gas hot water systems are run from LPG gas? We do not have reticulated gas, so the gas is supplied by LPG storage bottles.

If you are considering making the change to gas, you need to make sure your new system complies with Australian standards. Our Licenced Gasfitters can take care of that.

They can also conduct a site assessment to let you know where it’s best to position your new gas hot water system.

CONTINUOUS FLOW SYSTEMS – SIZE & CAPACITY OF THE SYSTEM

What size you choose depends on the number of hot water fixtures and occupants in your home.

Do you have Electric solar [PV] panels on your roof?

Here’s a tip, consider installation of a timer so that your hot water system heats during the day while your PV panels are active. Let the Sun pay for your hot water at a fraction of the price of Solar hot water systems.

We have helped many customers remove failed (Poor Quality/Import) Solar hot water systems and go back to electric storage systems. We work in conjunction with our preferred Electrical contractor who can achieve this for you.

Continuous flow systems are measured by LPM – litres per minute.

Unlike storage systems the water is only heated as required. Meaning the heating starts when you turn on the hot water tap.

Power outage, Continuous flow hot water systems are connected to a power point to run the ignition system. So, in the event of a power outage or power interruption, you won’t have any hot water.

MORE PROFESSIONAL HINTS & TIPS

No hot water? If you have recently run out of gas or changed bottles and have no hot water, your Gas system may have gone into ‘Lock out.’ This can happen if there is an interruption with the gas supply.

It can be easily fixed by turning off the power for 30 seconds, then turning back on and running your hot water tap.

STILL NOT SURE WHICH TO CHOOSE?
